October, 2008 |
Anna-Stina Nordmark Nilsson, Managing Director of Swedish Federation of Private Enterprises (Företagarna) cut the ribbon and officially inaugurated on the 17th of October 2008 Svalson’s new factory for their “Lä” product lines; Café au Lä, Cit i Lä and Siläncio. She also awarded Svalson the recipient of “Årets Företagarkommun” as one of the driving forces that made Piteå Kommun the best in Norrbotten and 21st place in all of 288 municipalities all over Sweden. Why Svalson as the recipient of this award? Anna-Stina justified Företagarna’s choice of Svalson because of the company’s unique performance of growth and expansion of new production lines and facilities despite the general atmosphere of financial uncertainties among Swedish companies this year.
The new factory is 800 sq m and is located next to the 2 500 sq m existing Svalson’s facilities.

Exemplary leadership
- The building and construction industry is a male-dominated world. Maud crossed this boundary by leading the company to further expansion to different markets outside Sweden. Svalson products can now be found not only in Europe but also as far as Japan and Australia.
- Her organizational skills, enthusiasm and positive personality resulted in a stronger product development and exciting new products. Under her leadership, the company is experiencing a record high turnover in its 25 years history.
Those were the words from Kuriren’s editor Sture Bergman handed over the trophy and certificate to the still surprised but very happy Maud Spencer. Under your leadership, your company has experienced the best turnover in the company’s 25 years of history." (Näringsliv Norrbotten, March 6, 2007)
Our big congratulations to Maud!
