For his new re-built restaurant, a superlative piece of modern architecture facing the Adriatic sea, Mario Sabbatini had a problem: how to best shield customers from Sirocco winds and let them enjoy the sea-breeze on ordinary days.
You cannot compromise when facing the sea; you need sturdiness, reliability and easy operation.
The choice has obviously been in favour of our Svalson adjustable windscreens.
The screens have been designed to suit the curved terrace around the main building and were supplied with (optional) glass counterweights for complete transparency.
Customers are thus allowed full views, in all conditions, on the surrounding gardens, promenade, pier and open sea. |

Caffè Apuano were ill advised by previous suppliers for a totally enclosed structure encroaching on a public pedestrian precinct. With Café au Lä, they have now settled the matter and they're still able to offer their customers a roughly year-long service as before. Planning problems with the municipality have been brought to a satisfactory end. Massa has gained an elegant structure and Caffé Apuano has a better and more versatile outdoor space. And the staff are also thankful: adjusting the height is a child's play. |

Oktober, 2008 |

France is an exciting market to enter for Swedish companies. The product name Café au Lä for Svalson’s unique adjustable terrace screen for restaurant is actually derived from a French popular drink, Café au Lait with a bit of Swedish twist on the ”Lä” which in Swedish means ”shelter from”.
It seems the French does not mind Svalson borrowing the word as the product Café au Lä is featured in a local Paris Magazine, La Revue des Comptoirs in its September 2007 issue. The product is being distributed in the French market by SARL Promozone. Their office is located in Jonquière Saint Vincent. |

Exemplary leadership
- The building and construction industry is a male-dominated world. Maud crossed this boundary by leading the company to further expansion to different markets outside Sweden. Svalson products can now be found not only in Europe but also as far as Japan and Australia.
- Her organizational skills, enthusiasm and positive personality resulted in a stronger product development and exciting new products. Under her leadership, the company is experiencing a record high turnover in its 25 years history.
Those were the words from Kuriren’s editor Sture Bergman handed over the trophy and certificate to the still surprised but very happy Maud Spencer. Under your leadership, your company has experienced the best turnover in the company’s 25 years of history." (Näringsliv Norrbotten, March 6, 2007)
Our big congratulations to Maud!
